The annual general membership meeting for all MHOA residents has been scheduled for 7:00 pm Thursday, May 7 at the Middlesex Township Recreation Building. The building is located at 50 Beagle Club Road
By holding the meeting in May, the Board continues the traditional schedule of a Spring meeting that began when the MHOA was formally established in 2005-6. The main items on the agenda will be votes on the budget and the dues to support that budget. At this point Treasurer Andy Harder does not anticipate a need to increase the annual dues beyond the 2025 rate of $75 per member.
The largest item in the budget is maintenance and mowing of the common areas that the MHOA has responsibility for. While the Board had been expecting a change in the maintenance providers and put this out for competitive bidding, the current contractor was chosen to continue his dedicated service.
In addition to detailing the Association's finances, the other main purposes for the meeting are to hear from individual members of any concerns/ideas and obtaining additional board members. At the meeting one item that should be updated is the progress on the planned data center along Country Club Road. Only removal of curbing and utility lines from the previous development has been happening that we are aware of.
A planning commission workshop meeting was held on August 11 that allowed Middlesex residents their first opportunity to hear from the corporation that is petitioning the Middlesex Supervisors to be allowed to use their newly acquired property on Country Club Road as the site of the region's first major data center.
Members of the planning commission pointed out that the project was still in the first stages. Representatives of the development group offered a slide show for the committee, which was peppered with questions about the environmental and other effects of what is planned. An article concerning the meeting was published on the PennLive website.
A Facebook group started by residents was developed in the week leading up to the meeting and is available at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2319274425158285 and quickly had nearly 250 people sign on in a few days.
Planning commission member Tracy Gleim told those who attended the meeting that they need to express their thoughts and concerns directly to the township commissioners. "Go to the supervisers and express your thoughts there," was the advice Gleim gave to the group.
The next meeting of the Supervisors is scheduled for September 3 at 7:00 pm. Additional information is available on the township website at https://middlesextwp.com.
A public meeting held by the company to explain further information and answer questions is scheduled for 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9 at the Barn at Creek's Bend on the grounds of the Carlisle Sports Emporium at 29 S. Middlesex Road.
MHOA Board Members and Others Complete Annual Trash Pickup on Bernhisel Bridge Rd
Once again members of the Board and several others held an annual trash pickup on Saturday, April 12 along Bernhisel Bridge Road. Members of the MHOA have done this for the past several years under the leadership of Trish Folan.
Wearing their hi-visibility vests they picked up nearly a dozen bags of litter and trash all along the Road and beyond our development. The only thing that volunteers needed to bring were gloves - along with appropriate clothing for occassional side trips into the woods. Middlesex Township coordinated with our volunteers to assist in providing signage and the hi-visibility orange vests for safety.
Dues notices for 2026 will be sent out in March, and all homeowners should take notice that payment will be due prior to May 1. Most members pay these billings on time, and our board would appreciate your prompt attention to this obligation. As of the end of 2025, only three members were not fully up-to-date on all dues payments.
Outdoor Pole Lights are Required by Middlesex Twp
Has your bulb burned out on your pole lamp? You may not be aware, but Middlesex Township requires all homes located in our development to have an operational, lighted pole light in the front of their house. Since we do not have a system of street lights, those pole lamps are the alternative to providing light to anyone walking around on our streets after dark.
So, if your lamp is not working, please replace it as soon as possible. Newer LED lights (if they are designed for outdoor use) should last for years. So shed some light on the situation - and help the dog walkers and others illuminate their paths - plus it adds to overall neighborhood security.
One final reminder - those pole lights must operate on a photocell and must be on from dusk-to-dawn. Our MHOA Building Restriction document specifies that "All homes must have a yard light on a pole equipped with a dusk-to-dawn photo-electric eye."
The MHOA Board is still looking for one additional member to help serve our community by serving a term on the Board. Respond with a note of interest (or ask questions about responsibilities) to our email address (see below).
