The sun was shining on a warm Saturday as dozens of children and adults took off to search for prizes inside "Easter Eggs" - now an annual event organized by Sharon Filipovich. Additional photos from this year's "hunt" can be viewed on the "Photos" page of the website.
The annual general membership meeting for all MHOA residents was held on May 7 at the Middlesex Township Recreation Building.
This meeting brought the schedule back in line with tthe traditional schedule of a Spring meetings that began when the MHOA was formally established in 2005-6. The main items on the agenda was the budget and the dues to support that budget, which were maintained at the 2025 rate of $75 per member.
The largest item in the budget is maintenance and mowing of the common areas that the MHOA has responsibility for. While the Board had been expecting a change in the maintenance providers and put this out for competitive bidding, the current contractor was chosen to continue his dedicated service. it was noted that if the contractor changes in the future then dues will have to be raised to cover antipated mowing increases since competing bids were mostly substantially higher.
Dues notices for 2026 were sent out at the beginning of March, and all homeowners should take notice that payment will be due prior to May 1. Most members pay these billings on time, and our board would appreciate your prompt attention to this obligation. As of the January, 2026, only one member was not fully up-to-date on all dues payments - a record for household payments.
Please let us know if you have not yet received your dues bill for 2026 by contacting us at meadowspahoa@gmail.com.
After taking the first step in the process that could lead to a data center on a Middlesex Township property was taken by the Township Supervisors in March, township commissioners approved other steps toward using the property on Country Club Road as the site of the region's first major data center at their May meeting.
Supervisor Phil Neiderer again said the issue was essentially decided when the Board rezoned the area to permit data centers last summer.
In the past several weeks, a multitude of trucks have been in and out of the site bringing in material as the landscape of the previous farm land has been changed. A fence with material preventing viewing now surrounds the entire property.
A Facebook group started by residents was developed started last summer tracks developments about this and similar projects and is available at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2319274425158285.
The Cumberland County Commissioners also have a video of another informational meeting posted on their website. That video can be viewed by going to https://www.cumberlandcountypa.gov/5325/Data-Center-Information-Session.
For those interested in the ongoing progress of the project, a listing of upcoming meetings of Boards and the Supervisors is available on the township website at https://middlesextwp.com. Look in the lower lefthand corner of the home page.
Outdoor Pole Lights are Required by Middlesex Twp
Has your bulb burned out on your pole lamp? You may not be aware, but Middlesex Township requires all homes located in our development to have an operational, lighted pole light in the front of their house. Since we do not have a system of street lights, those pole lamps are the alternative to providing light to anyone walking around on our streets after dark.
So, if your lamp is not working, please replace it as soon as possible. Newer LED lights (if they are designed for outdoor use) should last for years. So shed some light on the situation - and help the dog walkers and others illuminate their paths - plus it adds to overall neighborhood security.
One final reminder - those pole lights must operate on a photocell and must be on from dusk-to-dawn. Our MHOA Building Restriction document specifies that "All homes must have a yard light on a pole equipped with a dusk-to-dawn photo-electric eye."
The MHOA Board is still looking for one additional member to help serve our community by serving a term on the Board. Respond with a note of interest (or ask questions about responsibilities) to our email address (see below).
